Course Descriptions
Cosmeceuticals and Chemical Peels: Learn the active ingredients of cosmeceuticals, how they work, how to diagnose skin types and how to integrate your products into the best treatment protocols available. A review of different types of chemical peels available, enzymatic peels, and post treatment applications.
Ethnic Skin Care: Don't be afraid to work on darker skin types. We will dispel the myths and you will learn how to work on this growing market of individuals with a wide variety of skin conditions that need effective skin care. Whether you are in a predominately ethnic area or simply have clientele with darker skin, you will benefit from knowing the do's and don'ts of ethnic skin.
Imaging and Skin Analysis: The most important part of any treatment is a thorough skin analysis. Learn about the latest technology to help you tackle this all important aspect of skin care. Digital imaging is now being used to increase your treatment results. Find out how you can use the latest technology to build your business.
Acne Treatment: Our market is full of people from all age groups suffering from some form of acne. Learn about contributing factors as well as valuable tools and treatments that work. This course will teach you about contributing factors in acne breakouts, examination of the physical facts of acne and you will learn about helpful ingredients in the cosmeceutical field that can help your client win the acne war.
Advanced Microdermabrasion Techniques: An in depth review of the theories, applications and advanced methods available for the most popular skin care procedure in the industry. You will learn how to maximize the treatment of the skin by learning how to combine microdermabrasion with other treatment modalities, such as enzyme treatments, ultrasound and ultrasonic therapy, and light therapy.
What’s Hot? Adding High End Services: It is important to stay up to date with beauty trends. There are many new and exciting beauty trends that are easy to learn and add to your menu. Learn descriptions of new trends and the investment involved, training required, supplies needed, and how to market these new services.
Eyelash Extension Training with Hands-On: This 4-hour hands-on training course will cover basic and advanced application techniques, repairing incorrectly bonded lashes, removal, tips and tricks to save you time and money, client consultation, pre- and post-care, marketing, and live demonstration and hands-on training. The fee to attend this course at the conference is $395, a $100 discount off the normal price. This course does include a basic extension kit, enough supplies to service your first 100 clients.

Instructor Bios for Carolina Esthetics Conference
Colleen Large, Summerville, SC —Colleen joined the Grace Medical team in April 2004, and has served as the head of product training, sales and marketing. She is a founding member of the South Carolina Esthetics Association and teaches SC approved continuing education courses for the South Carolina Esthetics Association (SCEA). Her career in clinical skin care began in February 1986 and she continues to be a licensed esthetician in both Maryland and South Carolina , as well as a licensed esthetics instructor in South Carolina . In addition to her work at Grace Medical Equipment, Inc. and the SCEA, she continues to practice in a hands-on capacity at our affiliate, Grace Medi-Spa in Summerville , SC.
Harriet (Cheri) Wilson , Greensboro , NC —Cheri is a licensed cosmetology instructor in both North Carolina and South Carolina with 32 years experience in the beauty industry. Cheri joined the South Carolina Esthetics Association in 2008 with experience as a cosmetology instructor at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown , N.C. , and an esthetics instructor at Davidson County Community College in Lexington , N.C. Cheri has also been teaching esthetics courses for Grace Medical Equipment, Inc. in North Carolina since 2007.
LeAnn Grgurich, Summerville, SC — LeAnn is an experienced cosmetologist and owner of Ooh La La Beauty Boutique in Summerville , S.C. She is a licensed cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor in S.C. as well as an approved CE instructor in N.C. In addition to owning her own salon, LeAnn is an instructor for both Grace Medical and the SCEA. Her training specialties include Eyelash Extension and Airbrush Makeup and Tanning.
